Early Detection of Prostate Cancer



I visited the Cancer Hospital 'Dharmais' for consuls on one of his oncologist. While waiting I took some brochures about the various kinds of cancer. Here is one of the brochures that I took that is on Prostate Cancer. I started with prostate cancer because the disease causes the death of one of my father's younger brother and even this disease is now being suffered by an acquaintance who was caught at stage IV and has spread to the bone. Now an acquaintance of mine was unable to work because they can not get up from bed.

Prostate gland in the male sex gland that produces sperm / semen. The size of a biki Walnut located below the bladder surrounding the base of the urinary tract that secrete the urine from the bladder. In performing its function requires the prostate gland hormone testosterone produced by the testicles (testes). Prostate gland is formed by several cell types that normally would divide regularly. Prostate gland malignancy that occurs is the 10th most common malignant disease in men and in particular attacked over the age of 50 years.

The exact cause of prostate cancer is unknown but there are some circumstances be a risk factor for the occurrence of malignancy in the prostate gland are:

1. Age above 50 years
2. High-fat diet
3. Benign prostate enlargement
4. Viral infection transmitted through sexual contact
5th. Family history of prostate cancer in
6. Workers in the rubber industry and workers' long contact with metal pliers Cadmium (material for batteries)

In the early stages usually does not cause symptoms but often arise at a later stage symptoms / complaint

1. Frequent urination especially at night
2. Must be straining to urinate
3. Difficult to hold back urination
4. Can not urinate at all
5th. Painful urination / hot
6. There was blood in the urine and semen
7. Pain during ejaculation
8. Pain / cramp in the buttock, hip and groin

For early detection of prostate cancer, men aged above 40 years are encouraged to conduct regular examinations once a year in the form

1. Physical examination: digital rectal
2. USG (ultrasonography) prostate gland
3. The measurement of PSA (prostate specific antigen) in blood

Cancer treatment that is found in an early stage will give good results and hopes that greater disease-free.
