Prostate Cancer Family History not determining Prostate cancer too

History of prostate cancer experienced by family members can mean that a man had a higher risk for experiencing the same disease, but not so with pembesara risk of prostate, known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

Dr. Eva Negri told Reuters Health revealed that BPH is not a precursor of prostate cancer, but the situation does have beberpa senile same genetic factors, so there may be relationships family disease history of prostate cancer and BPH.

To find out about that possibility, Dr. Negri from the Mario Negri Institute for Research in Milan pharmacologic uses data from a large study in Italy. The data consisted of 1294 cases of prostate cancer, 1369 cases of BPH, and 1451 healthy men who acted as the control group.

As shown in previous studies, the risk of prostate cancer increased significantly in men who have a history of prostate cancer in the family. The risk is also higher in men whose families had ovarian cancer, bladder, and kidney.

In contrast, senile BPH are not influenced by the family disease history of prostate cancer or cancer in other parts. The results of this study published by the International Journal of Cancer.

"This study confirms bahawa in the family history of prostate cancer is an important risk factor for prostate cancer and the risk is even higher when members of families experiencing these diseases are biological brothers, but not so with BPH," said Dr. Negri, "The family members of men in families who suffer from breast and ovarian cancer cases also may have a higher risk for prostate cancer"

In this study, "We collect information megena various other factors such as diet, nutrition, physical activity, smoking, alcohol, and other lifestyle habits," said Dr. Negri added.

This data will be analyzed in the near future to identify factors that may affect prostate cancer and BPH.
